Chart-topping pop artist Becky Hill left Nottingham buzzing on 07/10/21 after playing to a packed room at Rock City.

The acclaimed singer-songwriter arrived late and stumbled through the first couple of songs with some technical difficulties. However, things picked up later in her set. She brought the small venue to life with fans singing along to hits ‘Afterglow’, ‘Through The Night’ for her Only Honest At The Weekends tour, promoting her debut studio album of the same name.

Newcomer Richard Fairlie was the chosen support act for the British singer. Hailing from the UK, the emerging R&B artist recently signed to Columbia Records and has been on the rise since. Leading with a strong on-stage presence, Farlie kept the crowd engaged with his DIY style. The young musician performed tracks including ‘Fonda on the Roof’, ‘Maybe I’m Just a Little Broken’, Poison, and ‘Shelter’. Following his set, the artist sought to make a connection with the crowd — he even took a selfie with the audience. Between the sets, the singer took the time to greet fans and meet those that had paid to see him and Becky Hill perform. Together, both acts delivered enjoyably different sets that complimented their unique performance styles.

Becky Hill’s album, Only Honest At The Weekends projected boldly throughout the venue. Not only did the crowd get involved singing along to the lyrics, which added a joyful atmosphere to the event, but she overcame the downfall of tech issues to give a fun show. The singer’s confessed to feeling insecure on stage which was admirable and a heartfelt moment she shared with the crowd. In all, it was a pleasant performance. The show, which was rescheduled from the original date of 22nd November 2020, was worth the wait. Both acts, Becky Hill and Richard Fairlie, pulled off a night to remember; one that’ll likely stick with the local Nottingham audience.

Becky Hill will continue her Only Honest At The Weekends tour at O2 Academy, Liverpool on 09/10/21. I would recommend any music fans in Liverpool, who is into singer-songwriter artists, to catch both Becky Hill and rising star Richard Fairlie live.
